Energy Efficiency Program for Multi-Family Residences
RG&E is offering eligible customers and building owners rebates and incentives to install energy efficient refrigerators, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and common area lighting.The purpose of the program is to encourage customers in multi-family buildings to reduce electricity usage by replacing inefficient refrigerators with high efficiency models and making lighting efficiency improvements.
All equipment replacements and installations will be performed by RISE Engineering, a contractor representing RG&E.

Background
On June 23, 2008 the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) issued an Order establishing an Energy Efficiency Portfolio
Standard (EEPS) for New York State. On July 27, 2009, the PSC issued a subsequent order. In this Order, all New York State utilities were required to programs to serve the multi-family customer group.
RG&E is offering to eligible customers and building owners rebates and incentives to install energy efficient refrigerators, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and common area lighting. .
The purpose of the program is to lower energy bills for apartment/condominium residents and lower energy bills for the building owners.

Up to six compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) will be installed in apartments or condominiums at no cost for the building owner or tenant. The CFLs installed will be selected to match existing incandescent bulbs as much as possible.
If additional building system lighting efficiency measures are identified for common area lighting, the program will pay up to 50% of these measures.
