Town of Webster giveaway free CFL at Webster Village Days
|
The Town of Webster handed out 660 free Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs at the Webster Village Days on Saturday, August 14. This is the second CFL Giveaway event the Town has held to promote the use of energy efficient lighting technologies within the community of Webster. Each CFL bulb provides the equivalent brightness of an old style 60-Watt incandescent light bulb while using 75 percent less electricity and lasts many times longer! The goal of this program is to encourage the replacement of incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient CFL bulbs. The CFL bulbs were purchased using a portion of the town’s allocated Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
